Memberships/Affiliations
Lorie is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the Rhode Island Veterinary Medical Associations (RIVMA). She joined the AVMA in 1986 and the RIVMA in 1988.
Lorie is also a member of the Veterinary Information Network (VIN), a veterinarians-only community which provides clinical information, continuing education, collegial support and a number of ancillary services. Her affiliation with VIN began in 1994.
During the course of her veterinary work, Lorie performs discounted services for the Volunteer Services for Animals, a local not-for-profit group which provides financial aid to pet owners in need. In addition, she performs low cost spays and neuters through several different certificate programs available locally, including the Friends of Animals Spay/Neuter Certificate program, the Rhode Island Veterinary Medical Association Spay/Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP) and through an exclusive arrangement with local Petco stores which distribute low cost spay/neuter certificates.
