Work Experience
Lorie has been actively practicing veterinary medicine since 1986, when she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from Iowa State University (ISU). She worked as a veterinarian in Omaha, Nebraska from 1986 to 1988 until she relocated to New England. She is currently practicing at a busy urban veterinary hospital located in Providence, Rhode Island, where she has been employed since 1988. She works primarily with dogs and cats, educating pet owners on the basics of routine health care for their pets, diagnosing and treating common and uncommon canine and feline diseases, and performing numerous medical and surgical procedures on a daily basis.
Lorie has been writing online since 2001, when she first published The Pet Med Site. Currently, you can find her at her blog, the Pet Health Care Gazette as well as at Feline Health Care Corner and Canine Health Care Corner. In addition, Lorie is currently the Feature Writer in Pet Care at Suite101.com and the National Pet Health Examiner at Examiner.com. Lorie also publishes the Voice of Pet Care newsletter and is a featured guest blogger at PetTalez.com. In addition, she has contributed several articles to untrainedhousewife.com.
Besides her other achievements, Lorie has published numerous articles to various E-zines and newsletters, as well as providing news material to PRWeb. She has also written for Ehow.com and Demand Studios.
